The rain.

There is something I love about the rain, the soft splashing on the waters surface, droplets falling from leaves, trickles running down ones neck as one stands and watches the gentle ripples on the still water.

The subject of rivers is not new to me; as a child I spent many hours walking with my grandfather along the Lagan, stopping to sketch when inspired.

The almost abstract feeling of reflected objects disconnected from life, cast upside-down in the softened light, creates a profoundly calm image.
